Philip Baerfuss

Managing Partner

Philip bridges the gap between start-ups and corporations. He leads the fields of disrupting products and companies, building corporate roll-out strategies, innovating sales and IT conception/production.

Prior to ekom, Philip gained corporate experience in the Swiss pharma and private banking industries. He set up his first start-up when he was 19; launched his second and learned important lessons at 28, sold successfully his third at 31. He was also a co-owner of a Swiss Private Digital Equity fund and he personally invested in the hospitality, publishing and aeronautical industries.

An entrepreneur by heart, he describes his start-up days as “successful failures” that allowed him to gain incredible and valuable experiences.

In 2016 he took a break from the digital world and moved to Norway for 3 months to preach low-cost sales and growth hacking to 50 Nordic start-ups. This is when he started thoroughly studying the complexities of disrupting markets and companies.

The same year Philip took the hard decision to close most of his companies, with the exception of EmptioCom Ltd, a small Bulgarian communication company, that became his first disruption client. EmptioCom was rebranded into ekom.agency to provide disruption, transformation and innovative sourcing services to companies - big and small.

Big names Philip worked for and with: Novartis Consumer Health and Citi Private Bank, Sabena Aerospace, Sensata Technologies, Orderbird, Eurohold, PWC, Hublot, LVMH and Leading Hotels of the World.
